Once you complete a registration form, you will be shown to an examination room where you will meet with our radiation oncologists. The doctor will discuss your initial diagnosis with you, your family health and history, any medications you may be taking and symptoms you may be experiencing. Then our radiation oncologists will explain the treatment process to you and answer any questions you may have. For your second appointment, you will have a physical examination, paying special attention to the area of involvement for which you were referred. Then, your physician will discuss your treatment options and whether radiation therapy is appropriate for you. If radiation therapy is required, a simulation appointment will be scheduled. At this time X-rays, CT scans, bone scans or laboratory work may be ordered to assist in your treatment planning.
Please call our office if you have any questions regarding your condition, medications or treatment. Depending on the nature of the call, your call may be referred to a physician or a radiation therapist.
