Prakash B. Chougule, MD
Radiation Oncologist
Dr. Chouglule, a nationally recognized, board-certified radiation oncologist, brings his expertise in head and neck malignancies to the Maddock Center. He specializes in IGRT, IMRT, head and neck brachytherapy and cardiovascular brachytherapy.
Before joining the Maddock Center, Dr. Chougule was a radiation oncologist at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson, Tennessee. He also practiced at McFarland Clinic, in Ames, Iowa and at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, Rhode Island, where he served at Acting Physician-in-Chief of the Department of Radiation Therapy and the Division Head of the Head, Neck and Brain Tumor Service. While in Providence, he held numerous positions including primary radiation oncologist at The New England Gamma Knife Center and an academic appointment at Brown University’s Department of Radiation Medicine. He has been a consulting radiation oncologist to the Naval Regional Medical Center in Newport, Rhode Island for over twenty years.
Dr. Chougule received his Bachelor’s degree from Rajaram College in Kolhapur, India and his medical degree from Dr. V.M. Medical School in Solapur, India. Following an internship at C.P.R. Hospital in Kolhapur, he completed a residency in general surgery at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee, and a residency in radiation oncology at University of Maryland Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. Chougule has published over fifty papers and manuscripts and delivered over one hundred presentations, lectures and seminars. He has been principal, co- or sub-investigator for numerous clinical protocols and studies and cooperative group trials. |
