Maddock Center for Radiation Oncology Receives American College of Radiology Accreditation

Prestigious Certification Recognizes High Standards of Care

WARWICK, RI — October 30, 2008 — Maddock Center for Radiation Oncology announced it has been accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR). This prestigious national certification is widely recognized as the gold standard for high practice standards. Maddock Center is the sole Rhode Island owned and managed radiation oncology practice in the state. It is the only ACR-accredited facility in southern Rhode Island and only the second in the entire state to receive accreditation.

The Maddock Center underwent a voluntary rigorous evaluation process to receive their three-year accreditation, which determined the Center meets nationally accepted standards of care. The peerreviewed evaluation also certified that its personnel and equipment are qualified and appropriate to
administer radiation therapy treatments, and that the facility meets or exceeds quality assurance and safety guidelines.

“We are proud to receive our ACR certification,” said Dr. Philip Maddock. “It underscores, to our patients and referring physicians, that Maddock Center provides the highest quality treatment and care. Patients do not have to leave Rhode Island to receive the most advanced therapy.”
